The story of Maria Teresa Jasionowicz - deported as a child to Kazakhstan, saved from death thanks to evacuation with troops of General Anders' army.
Maria Teresa Jasionowicz, a nun of the Congregation of the Nazareth, was deported as a child with her mother and siblings to Kazakhstan. Thanks to her mother's efforts, she and her siblings survived and were evacuated to Iran after the „amnesty”. In Tehran, from 1942 to 1943, she studied in Polish schools. She was then sent to Lebanon and lived in Beirut. After the war ended, she was transported to Great Britain.
